The Timbeque community, located in Los Guaricanos, Santo Domingo Norte, faces significant social, economic, and environmental challenges that directly impact the quality of life of its residents. Recognizing these realities, Evolution Foundation conducted a community assessment process to identify the most pressing needs and design sustainable solutions focused on human development.

The study included socioeconomic surveys, focus groups with youth and community leaders, and an analysis of local conditions. Among the most critical issues identified were environmental pollution, limited access to basic services, school dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, and the lack of adequate spaces for youth development.

One of the most urgent concerns is environmental sanitation. The accumulation of solid waste and deficiencies in wastewater management create health risks for families and negatively affect living conditions throughout the community. These challenges are compounded by limited access to clean water and the need to strengthen environmental awareness and civic responsibility.

Youth development is a central component of the transformation strategy. The plan includes initiatives focused on school reintegration, technical and vocational training, career guidance, and life-skills development. It also promotes the creation of sports, cultural, and community spaces that provide positive opportunities for children and young people.

Additional initiatives include entrepreneurship programs, medical outreach activities, maternal and reproductive health services, teenage pregnancy prevention efforts, reforestation projects, and community recycling programs. These interventions are designed to create sustainable impact through active community participation and collaboration among public institutions, private organizations, and civil society partners.

The plan also addresses critical priorities such as basic infrastructure improvements, access to sanitation services, employment opportunities, and food security programs. These areas were identified as essential to improving the overall well-being and resilience of community residents.

Evolution Foundation’s vision is to support Timbeque through a comprehensive transformation process that expands opportunities, strengthens community capacity, and contributes to a healthier, safer, and more prosperous future for current and future generations.
